The Manteca Public Works Department provides services to residents & businesses and provides management & maintenance of the City's infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, sewers, storm drains, public buildings & structures, vehicles & equipment, street lights, and traffic signals. We focus on customer service and satisfaction.
Public Works divisions:
The Building Maintenance Division provides maintenance, construction, and janitorial services for City facilities.
The primary function of the engineering division is to promote the orderly development of the City of Manteca by providing general engineering services to regulate the construction of municipal structures, city streets, sewage disposal, water supply and storm drainage facilities. Through regulation, the goal is to provide a high standard of construction quality and to preserve and protect public health, safety, and convenience.
The Sewer Division has 3 major functions:
- Sewer Lift Station and Sewer collections: Maintain sewer line infrastructure integrity and sewage transportation reliability, under the Waste Discharge Regulation (WDR).
- Sewage Treatment: Treat, analyze and discharge treated wastewater and solids in compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
- Storm Water Management: Follow Best Management practice to prevent and minimize storm water from street damming through storm drainage, retention and pump station reliability.
The Solid Waste Division consists of 30 employees all dedicated to serving the needs of this ever growing community. The Division works as a TEAM devoted to ensuring that the City's demands are met effectively and that customer service is a top priority.
The Streets Division maintains the public storm drainage system, installs curbs, gutters, sidewalks, performs minor road repairs and paving, installs roadway striping, and is responsible for city street signs.
The Vehicle Maintenance Division provides vehicle maintenance and repairs for all City departments.
The Water Division maintains, operates and samples the City's water system. Its main goal is to provide the public with safe drinking water.
