As of July 1, 2012-Any Commercial or Public entity that generates more than 4 cubic yards of solid waste per week is required, by California State Law, to also recycle.
AB341 is the Mandatory Commercial Recycling Law that was created in hopes of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by diverting commercial solid waste to recycling efforts and by expanding opportunities for additional recycling services and recycling manufacturing facilities in California. The Law requires any business that generates 4cyds or more of commercial solid waste per week; or a multi-family complex of 5 units or more to reuse, reduce, recycle, compost or otherwise divert materials from the landfill. More information on AB341 can be found at: www.calrecycle.ca.gov
