Child Abduction

On
11/3/11, at about 3:00pm, Manteca Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit
(SCU) and State Parole began an investigation in the 1800 block of
Arlington Ct. based on information from concerned citizens in the area
about suspicious behavior at the residence.

10/31/2011, at approximately 6:13pm, Manteca Police were called to a
residence in the 800 Block of Golden Pond Dr to conduct a welfare check
on a female resident. They
arrived and found a female victim, in her 50’s, deceased inside the
home. An initial
investigation showed the victim did not die from natural causes.
MPD Detectives were called to the scene and initiated a homicide
investigation.
November 3, 2011 - Three month update on Manteca Police Street Crime Unit
SCU has been very busy the last three months. This unit consists of one sergeant, three detectives, and one parole agent.
November 3, 2011 - City of Manteca to Display U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree
The Holiday season will begin early in Manteca this year as the City will be host of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree. Manteca will be one of the first stops and one of just several California cities to display the tree on its way to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The Capitol Christmas Tree is being cut from an undisclosed location in the Stanislaus National Forest.
The City of Manteca notified 16 employees on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 that they will be laid off at the end of business June 30, 2011.
