Mayor's Message

Manteca is a progressive, growing community that is known as "The Family City".  Our residents are actively involved in their community by participating regularly in school, business, religious, and charitable events and activities.  Civic pride and community spirit are evident throughout our city.  We enjoy an excellent quality of life in Manteca and support the well-planned growth that is taking place to make it even better.

Population estimates released by the State of California indicate Manteca surpassed 64,000 early in 2006, an increase of 23% in the past five years.  This impressive growth continues a 10-year trend that has resulted in the city's population increasing by 43%.  Strong growth is also taking place nearby, with market area populations of 85,000 within a 10-minute drive, 467,000 within a 20-minute drive, and over one million people within a 30-minute drive of Manteca.  We are looking for all types and sizes of retail, restaurant, recreation, hotel, office, and industrial development to serve this local and regional growth.  Allow us to welcome you to "The Family City".
