& Electricity

Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), an investor-owned utility, provides
natural gas and electric service to approximately 12 million people in Northern and
Central California. PG&E's service area covers 70,000 square miles and includes
the San
Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, and the Sierra Nevada
and foothills.
As a result of California's electric industry
deregulation in 1998,
PG&E customers can choose the company providing their electricity.

Telephone

Verizon provides local telephone service for over 50,000 customers in the Manteca area. The
community is equipped with fiber optic lines. Digital data services include
DSL, T-1, ISDN (BRI and PRI), Frame Relay, Centranet, and telephone services.

was formerly the GTE Corporation and recently merged with Bell Atlantic.

Water

The City of Manteca provides water service for the
community. Approximately 15,000 connection customers are served, with
an average daily usage of 11 million gallons. The pumping capacity is
31.5 million gallons per
day. 100% of the water processed by the City comes from ground water
wells. This source is
augmented by an elevated water storage tank holding 300,000 gallons.

Garbage

The City of Manteca provides solid waste
garbage service for the Manteca area.

Sewer

The City of Manteca Wastewater Treatment
Plant serves
the City of Manteca, City of Lathrop, and Raymus Village in San Joaquin
County. The plant currently
treats approximately 6.5 million gallons of wastewater per day (gpd), and has
been rated with a capacity of approximately 7 million gpd. A plant
expansion to approximately 10 million gpd is currently underway and is expected to be
largely completed from an increase in capacity standpoint by July, 2007
(all aspects of the expansion should be completely finished by August,
2008).

Storm
Drainage

The City of Manteca operates and maintains the Storm Drain System,
which serves the community. The City’s Storm Drainage System
consists of approximately 170 miles of pipeline, 36 Pump Stations and 35
Detention Basins. When it rains, the runoff flows through this
system, into South San Joaquin Irrigation District Drains and Laterals,
and eventually into the San Joaquin River.
