Freeway

There are three major freeways in Manteca: Interstate 5, Highway 99, and
Highway 120. Interstate 5 runs north/south (spanning from Mexico to Canada)
and is
about a mile to the west of Manteca. Highway 99 runs north/south and is a primary statewide
route which travels through
Manteca near the eastern edge of the City. Highway 120 runs east/west and travels though Manteca near the southern edge of the City,
linking the San Joaquin Valley to the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sierra Nevada and
foothills. Highway 120 also serves as a connector between
Interstate 5 and Highway 99.

Water

Port of Stockton
The Port of Stockton is 16 miles north of Manteca and is located on the
Stockton Deepwater Ship Channel, 75 nautical miles due east of the Golden Gate
Bridge, the entrance to San Francisco Bay. The Port is approached from
the San Francisco Bay via the San Pablo Bay, Carquinez Strait, Suisun Bay,
and the Stockton Channel.
Vessel size guidelines include 900-foot maximum length with no width
restriction. The channel's capacity supports up to Panamax-size
vessels fully loaded sailing at high tide, and will handle 45,000- to
55,000-ton class ships fully loaded. Up to 80,000-ton class vessels
can transit the channel partially loaded.
The Port is one mile from Interstate 5. Rail service is provided by
two transcontinental
railroads: Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific. Over 200
truck companies serve the port, including all the major transcontinental
carriers.

Passenger
Rail

Altamont Commuter Express
The Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) provides passenger service Monday
through Friday between Stockton and San Jose. Currently there are three trips
a day, with a fourth being planned. The ACE system covers 85
route miles and 10 station stops, including one in Manteca.
The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC), the Alameda County Congestion Management
Agency (ACCMA), and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) executed an
agreement to create the ACE system.
