Kevin Fant, Parks and Recreation Director
The City of Manteca Parks Recreation Department serves thousands of individuals, including toddlers, youth, teens and adults throughout the greater Manteca area. We strive to offer programs and services that foster health, wellness and human development, strengthen families and provide recreational opportunities for individuals for the purpose of positively affecting the quality of life for all involved.

The Department oversees more than 400 acres of neighborhood and community parks, the Tidewater Bikeway, skate park and the Senior Center. We also supervise the operations of the 18-hole municipal golf course, and library services.

Use the links on our home page to view information on specific programs and services.

MISSION The primary mission of the City of Manteca Parks and Recreation Department is to plan, acquire, develop and maintain parks, recreational, cultural and educational facilities and conserve them for future generations; to administer quality public recreational, human services, cultural and educational programs that will serve the needs of the residents in the Manteca area; and to facilitate and serve as a catalyst for private, non-profit and quasi-public provision of facilities and/or services.

IMAGINE a community where the parks and recreation facilities are always safe, clean and green.

IMAGINE a community with a wide range of services, programs and facilities that bring families together and strengthen family and community bonds.

IMAGINE a community that provides opportunities for citizens to learn, grow and engage in the arts, sports, recreation, education, life long learning, and cultural activities that build a sense of community.

IMAGINE a city that provides services, programs and facilities that are readily available to all citizens through a single, competent and helpful point of contact with their local government.

IMAGINE a parks and recreation department that is a model of community oriented government providing guidance, services, and support to residents through open communication, access, and collaboration with the community in a way that builds trust and respect between government and the community.

IMAGINE a parks and recreation department that knows change is inevitable, that it can and must change and believes in and acts upon the attitude that things are never as good as they will be.
