A 10,000-plus square-foot, multi-purpose Senior Center serving and involving adults and seniors age 50 and above throughout the greater Manteca area. There are no membership fees to participate at the center; however, some classes and activities have nominal fees.

Mobile Farmers' Market Program
"The Farmers' Market and Nutrition"

First Wednesday of Every Month, 10:00-11:00 am

 

Spaghetti Dinner and Bingo
Second Monday of Every Month

Doors open at 5:00 PM; Dinner at 5:30 PM.
$6.00 per person -- pre-sale only (limited to 175 people)

Sign up at the front desk no later than the Friday prior to the event.

No tickets will be sold at the door.

Menu includes spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, dessert and beverage.

Bingo cards are $1.00 each.

Saturday Senior Breakfasts  (Age 50+)
Third Saturday of Every Month at 9:00 AM

$6.00 per person, pre-sale only.

New guest host each month

Potluck Dinner
Third Thursday of Every Month at 5:00 PM
Please bring a related dish to share, enough to feed 8 to 10 people. Don't forget your plate and flatware. Potluck is open to people 50 yrs and better. We will provide the dessert.

Second Sunday of Every Month

1-4 PM, $3.00 per person
Fourth Sunday of Every Month

1-4 PM, $4.00 per person

Monday-Wednesday-Friday, starting at 9:45 AM sharp!

Meet new friends and enjoy 10 games of Bingo at $0.50 per card.

Senior Brown Bag Program

The Senior Center and Second Harvest Food Bank will be offering seniors supplemental groceries, including fruits, vegetables, and basic grocery staples (no dairy projects). This program is for those age 60 and above. Food distributions will take place on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 9:30 am to 11:30 am (times may be adjusted after the program begins). You must PRE-REGISTER to participate in this program. There is an annual $12.00 suggested donation fee payable when you register for the program. When you register, you will pay the $12.00 fee and receive your I.D. card, which you need to bring in with you each time you come in for food. Please bring your own large bags. For more information, call the Senior Center.

Homeowner and Renter Assistance
Seniors, the disabled and the blind are eligible for homeowner and rental assistance under a State program.  The program is available for people who have a household annual income less than $44,096 and are blind, disabled or are 62 or older.  Individuals should bring proof of age and a copy of the 1099 Social Security Benefit Statement.  For more information, call Helen Hixon at 823-3747 and she will help you fill this out.

HICAP
Information about health insurance policies and benefits. Counseling services are provided by Counselors registered by the California Department of Aging. Available by appointment on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Call 456-8650 for an appointment.

Notary Service
Second Tuesday of each month, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Call 456-8650 to schedule an appointment.

Paralegal Service
Paralegal appointments are on the second and fourth Tuesdays from noon to 4:00 PM.  This service is provided by the Council for the Spanish-Speaking. You do not need to be Spanish-speaking to take advantage of this service. It is for Seniors 60 and older. Call for appointment at 456-8650.

Senior Peer-Counseling
Senior Peer-Counseling is available on Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  It is free to those in San Joaquin County. Counseling is available for aging problems, grief, loneliness, depression, etc.  For additional information or appointment, call Donna Combs at (209) 953-5552.

Volunteerism
The Senior Center boasts over 120 volunteers, donating over 15,000 hours in service to seniors.  Many volunteer opportunities exist at the Center such as  Nutrition, Facility Supervisor, Trips & Tours, Program and Service Desk.  Please call 456-8650 if you are interested in volunteering.

The Senior Advisory Committee meets at the Senior Center on the 2nd Monday of every month at 1:00 PM, except for holidays.  All seniors are welcome to attend and voice opinions and concerns.  Let us hear your voice.
